Tension threads

Home  /  Tension threads

What are the tension threads?

One of the most obvious symptoms of aging is the loss of elasticity in the skin, due to the destruction of collagen and elastin in the epidermal tissue. This translates into facial flaccidity and the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines, a process that will become more pronounced over the years. Fortunately, aesthetic medicine offers numerous effective, safe and minimally invasive facial rejuvenation solutions, making them a good alternative to surgical interventions. One of them is the treatment with tensor threads.

Thread lift treatment is a non-surgical treatment whose main objective is to reduce the signs of aging thanks to the introduction of a dermal firming in the parts of the face most affected by aging. In this way, it is intended to recover the contour and natural shape of the face. Its results are used to:

• Improve skin firmness
• Elevation of the eyebrows
• Correct asymmetries
• Define the jaw
• Correct double chin
• Reduce wrinkles

How is the treatment carried out?

The tensor threads are filaments made of biocompatible materials. The most common is polydioxanone (PDO), a resorbable, anti-allergic material widely used in cardiac surgery sutures. Being introduced into the skin, they provide the dermis with greater firmness and smoothness, lifting the facial tissues. Due to its effectiveness, it is one of the most demanded anti aging treatments.
In addition, the action of the tensor threads goes further, since it also works at the subcutaneous level. In this sense, it must be taken into account that polydioxanone stimulates the natural production of elastin and collagen around the inserted threads. The result is a facelift without surgery, which reduces flaccidity and restores firmness and elasticity to the skin.

The tensor threads are introduced at the dermal level under local anesthesia with the help of a very fine needle. After placing the thread, the needle is removed, leaving it in the desired position. The number of threads that are introduced will depend on the extension of the area in which it is desired to intervene and the results that are intended to be achieved.
Thread lift treatment is especially recommended for men and women who want to reverse the first signs of aging on the skin, such as wrinkles or deep furrows. It should be noted that this technique is not recommended for skin with excessive flaccidity or very pronounced wrinkles
